Begging in Saudi Arabia is a severe punishment

Saudi Arabia has enacted strict laws to control begging.

According to the country’s new anti-begging law, a maximum of one million Saudi riyals and one year in prison will be imposed if caught. – Gulf News.

The law will be applied not only to beggars, but also to beggar managers or associate organizers, the cabinet said.

However, jail and fines will be reduced by 50 percent.

According to the new law, a beggar caught from now on will be sent to exile, not to rehabilitation at the end of his jail term.
