A Eid al-Adha is a celebration that honors the willingness of Ibrahim to obey Allah and also commemorates the end of the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, made by Muslims from around the world.

Eid al-Adha may fall on June 28, with the Day of Arafat expected to be observed on June 27, according to astronomical calculations.

When is Eid Al Adha 2023 In KSA?

The sighting of the new moon in Dhul-Hijjah, the Islamic calendar’s 12th and last month, will determine the day of Eid Al Adha. On 19 June 2023, the crescent moon is expect to appear. It will be the first day of Dhul-Hijjah if the moon is see on that day. The tenth day of Dhul-Hijjah is always the day of Eid Al Adha.

Eid al-Adha, or the Festival of Sacrifice, is a major Islamic holiday celebrate worldwide. During Eid al-Adha, Muslims worldwide gather for communal prayers, engage in acts of charity, and sacrifice an animal, typically a sheep.

On the Day of Arafat, Muslim pilgrims performing the Hajj gather on the plains of Arafat, located outside Mecca.

While the holiday falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the 12th and final month of the Islamic calendar, the exact date of the holiday varies from year to year and is determine by the sighting of the new moon.

 

Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, also takes place during the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah.

The pilgrimage – which is expect to begin on June 26 – takes place from the 8th to the 12th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, with Eid al-Adha falling on the 10th day of the month.
